I wanted to share this very unique and amazing procession after my brother, Jim’s, memorial service. Over 200 people attended the service and even more went to his Life Celebration Dinner. He was loved by so many! Story after story was told of what an incredible person he was, ALWAYS concerned about helping others over himself.
Jim loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, fast cars, dune buggies, go-carts and more! He loved to race and won many trophies!
He was the most wonderful brother and son to my mom. I am disabled with Multiple Sclerosis and Lyme Disease. We both also live with severe neurological reactions to the neuro-toxins in fragranced products, cleaners, paints, exhaust, etc.
My brother (and my sister Debbie when she could) would often drive 600 miles to visit us when everyone else had walked away.
Just before Christmas of this year (2011), my brother passed away in his sleep. He had been in unspeakable pain for many years, but always plowed through it. Last summer, he had major neck surgery and his health went down hill fast. When I saw him last Thanksgiving, he was in horrific pain and not sleeping. He even ended up in the emergency room. However, losing him has been a HUGE shock!
We are thankful he is finally relieved of his pain and will see him again someday, but we can’t imagine life without him.
Video I made of the incredible procession after the services.
JIM WAS ALWAYS GIVING TO OTHERS:
Jim was very supportive of the work that the Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) does to help others like me (debilitated by chronic illness and pain). Jim traveled to attend the banquets with pride for what IDA (founded by my husband, Wayne) was doing to bring awareness and support around the world. If you would like to donate to IDA in his Memory,
Jim was also active for 20 years in the the local Western Slope Annual Toy Run, presented by the Western Slope Harley Owners Group. Every year, bikers and hot-rod lovers collected and drove toys in a cavalcade to donate to children through the Salvation Army. Jim also rode with the Riders for Justice and enjoyed going to the Grand Junction Eagles Lodge.

The most moving memorial I have ever seen. My condolences to you and yours on your loss. I am grateful that he is no longer in pain. We, as “Lymies” who suffer from Lyme Disease and its’ many co-infections understand the kind of pain he lived in daily. I didn’t know you or your brother but joined Invisible Disabilities because no one understands what it is like to live 24/7 year after year in misery.
I guess I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself because unlike your brother, I have lost my family, my friends, and my fiance to this horrific disease. I won’t have anyone at my funeral because, for various reasons, lyme has not only taken my life away, but has taken everyone and everything else away too. On March 6th I will be homeless with my service dog and my cats, they have stripped me of my SSI for not reporting a few thousand dollars that me and my service dog received from a pit bull dog that attacked us. They have taken away my health care, my food stamps, and my fuel. AFTER they told me it was okay to keep it. Now? They said no and stripped me and have left me with nothing. .I can only pray that one day soon your brother, being the wonderful person I have read about, will come take me home with him.
You have lost a wonderful person in your life, but look how many lives he touched…..May The Lord Be With Him.
