No, I’m not on some wonderful vacation or in Cancun or Hawaii, don’t I wish! .. But it’s AWESOME! Enjoying my happy place on my birthday! Just wish I had a friend to share it with. Oh well!
VIDEO: Happy Father’s Day to my hubby. Wayne R Connell! He finally got his tractor! … Well, it’s not really the tractor he had in mind! But hope he enjoys it anyway!
Here’s My Happy Place!
My happy place is an outdoor pool! I feel free and relaxed when I am in the water! I can even get some exercise in the water, whereas it is virtually impossible for me on land. Pools are fairly available, compared to let’s say trying to travel somewhere to get to a beach. But I feel like I am at a resort when I am at an outdoor pool! And that makes them awesome!
Here Are Some More of Mine:
Outside with my animals (but not heat).
Spending time with friends and family
Disneyland or Disney World (someday again I hope)
At a wildlife preserve or conscientious zoo (rare)
Beach (only been a few times)
Going out to eat
Watching fun videos online
Playing Scrabble online
Playing Solitaire online
So, Where is YOUR Happy Place?
Don’t have one? Keep searching, because we all need not just one, but many! We need ones that are rare, as well as ones that are very accessible. It could be anything from the beach to a restaurant to sitting on your couch watching a movie. List as many as you can think of and use them as refuge from the stress of this life!
Remember! We have to be intentional every day about finding joy and laughter, amidst the battles! We can’t just wait for them to fall onto our laps! It’s imperative!
Mandy Harvey Concert
We were so excited to go to this Mandy Harvey Concert! We hadn’t seen her since last December. I have missed my sweet Mandy Girl! Wowee! What a fun block party with Mandy!
I only made it through half her concert (I have MS and Late-Lyme Disease). I also had a major reaction to heat and air fresheners inside the building.
But what a treat it was to see her again! I got to hear two of my favorites, “Cry Me a River” and her original, “Release Me!” And don’t tell anyone … but we got to go backstage and get hugs! I have missed you so much, Mandy!
Who is Mandy Harvey?
You have probably seen Mandy on America’s Got Talent! She auditioned with her original song, “Try” and got the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell! When she returned to the LIVE Quarter Finals, she sang another original, “Mara’s Song.” She was voted into the Semi-Finals starting September 5th. We are so excited for you, Mandy!
Mandy lost her hearing in college while studying music. She was devastated! Her life was all about music and she watched her dream vanish! Her father encouraged her to try to sing without being able to hear. Mandy was able to sing through muscle memory to hit the note and of course, she could read music. She went on to work very hard daily to practice feeling the notes in her vocal cords, throat and head, she uses a piano tuner to keep her pitch and she feels the music from the band through her feet and body.
We are cheering for you, Mandy! The world is discovering what we have known for years. You are an incredible vocalist and songwriter with amazing perseverance and message for us all to never give up and “TRY!”
More About Mandy!
Thank you for the amazing day and for being a blessing in my life, Mandy!
We love you!
All Winter long, I count down the days until Daylight Savings Time starts again!
I NEED the sunlight! When we turn our clocks forward, I literally come out of a dark tunnel!
Time for sunshine on the patio, BBQ’s and more time outside!
Then, next thing I know, Spring is finally here, so I can do my Spring cartwheels and come ALIVE!
We Wish You All A Happy and Adventurous New Year!

|Pumpkin Pie is my sweet Nigerian Dwarf Goat, we just call her Pumpkin for short!. Pumpkin is not only gorgeous, but she is incredibly smart, hilarious and sweet! I have enjoyed her so much that I have made lots of videos of Pumpkin and couldn’t resist sharing them with the world! We have clips of her doing everything from plotting a mission impossible escape to jumping and sliding down the slide to pottying in a litter-box! She’s a hoot!
Not only that, Pumpkin and her sista’ Cookie have written a book, The Adventures of Pumpkin and Cookie: Cookie Doesn’t Want to Be a Goat! Pumpkin encourages Cookie to be herself and be proud she is a goat and children learn a great lesson. Moreover, Pumpkin and Cookie are out to help other goats find loving homes like theirs by selling the books to raise money for animal rescues and other non-profit organizations!
Pumpkin’s favorite treats are … you guessed it! Pumpkin seeds!! She also likes green apples, celery, black oil sunflower seeds and alfalfa pellets.
She is such a cuddle bug! I have had friendly and loving goats, but she is incredible! She adores kisses all over her face! I can’t get enough of her and she is always asking me to come outside for a visit. She talks and talks to me through the windows when I am inside. We have two lounge chairs on the patio. She gets on one and puts her head on her Princess Pumpkin Pillow then takes a nap with Mommy! She would sleep in my bed with me if I let her! She is definitely a Momma’s girl, here to give me love and joy!
As you can see, Pumpkin is quite the gal! But she doesn’t really know how famous she is. All she knows is that Mommy is very ill and mostly home-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis and Lyme Disease. So she greets me every day with lots of bleets, hugs, kissies and will cuddle with me for hours!
Pumpkin brings me so much joy that I can’t help myself but tell the world how amazing she is!
I have made a big decision today. I am quitting my 24 x 7 job of fighting for my life, which COSTS me money and getting a new job that’s just 40 hours a week that PAYS me money!
I am giving up spending all day every day doing therapies, doctor appointments, spending time in waiting rooms, time getting testing, filing insurance claims, paying doctor bills and preparing special diet foods for a job that pays $85,000 a year!
By next year, we should be able to pay off my bills, move to a new home and start going on some vacations! Wow! Why didn’t I do this many years ago?
April FOOLS! Don’t I wish I had that choice!!
